The CJCC is enhancing community well-being and building confidence in all institutions that affect criminal justice by advancing constitutional, fair and effective policies and practices, including ensuring access to judicial and support services and by promoting cross-institution communication, data-driven policies and accountability throughout the system.
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council envisions a community with well-supported systems of justice, behavioral health and education that adhere to the constitution while promoting fairness, safety and accountability for everyone.
The judicial branch of New Mexico consists of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, 34 district courts and 43 magistrate courts in 13 judicial districts, the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, 33 county probate courts, and 78 municipal courts serving the people of the state.
